Posting from the lobby of Holiday inn Express

Day two (I think…) of a million on this trip…. and I already regret not taking my lappy with me. I have to use the hotel desktop here, and IT STINKS! </joel hodgson> Yeah, some kiddo re-named the already stupid browser IE to “enternet ecks plorer .com” …yeeeah. I’ve been plotting a new cartoon. It all began with a short conversation with mah SISTAHS in the car yesterday. We were talking about a mansion on a hill and Zoe piped out: “Maybe James and his peach live there!” and so we had a “making-fun-of-James-and-the-Giant-Peach” contest. I said something like “What do they do about a bathroom? Peach-porcelain toilets? Or maybe it’s like… ‘Grasshopper! Stop the peach! I gotta take me a dump! All that fruit we’s eatin’ is givin’  me some NASTY diarrhea!”

And now for a review, kiddies!!!

Shall we begin?

GRAPHICS: Nice little animations have been improved since the PW saga.

SOUND: Best music in the series yet! Sounds are still beep! boop! bop! but it’s good.

FUN: The story is one of those “can’t put down” tales, and there’s even some new things to do, like fingerprint analysis!

CONTROLS: Mostly still the “read, tap, read, tap…” thing, but that doesn’t matter. The story is what we play for!

REPLAY: You really can only play through once or twice, and that’s all. But it’s fun while it lasts!

OVERALL: 8.5/10 (Great!)

And that’s all for now, guys. Maybe I can post tomorrow, and give you an update of my “fun” trip!!! Heh heh…. *whine*

Easter!! :D

Happy spring, guys, and you know what that means! Easter! Best of all, expect a flash… crap. I’m going away for 4 days today. Well, see ya. (I can’t bring my laptop, sorry. D:)

@ dad’s work

Hey I’m at my Dad’s work place for a few hours. There’s some weird costume party we have to go to later… well, whatever. I’m really tired and I don’t feel like writing a lot right now, so bubye!

Queen Discography

My mom picked up the Queen Discography at Costco the other day for $40… a good deal for 6 CDs packed with some amazing music. In fact, the total time for the music is at least 5 and a half hours, and since I like to listen to my music over and over again, that means loads of listening fun. Only problem now is ripping every last one to my computer… a task that may seem simple at first, but gets repetitive. I want these on my iPod, but it’s starting to become as fun as punching my way through a brick wall right now, before I can get them there. It’s been almost a half hour, and the first CD is only done now… I’m so tired. I got really windburned and sunburned today… I can explain later. I have to pop another CD in the slot. Have a nice day!

Mucho Musica

I’m starting making music again. The first collection is about half done. So far, it is as follows:

9 songs so far

Torgo Remix 3:20
This Song Makes You Insane 0:23
Swingin’ Down 1:12
Interference 1:24
Jungle Beat 0:20
Epic Electric 1:00
Basically, I’m Frustrated 0:58
Sinistar 1:12
Twine 1:12

Current Total Time 1:12

*Yawn*

I finished the Design project in Smart lab, and my next project is what I’ve wanted to do for my whole life….

Direct a film!

Yes, I know it sounds stupid, but Keenan and I are head writers for my first feature-length live-action motion picture! Yes, it’s low budget, and yes, it might suck, but this will be my first time directing something this big! The only other times I directed anything was “Zoe and the Vampire” an absolutely unwatchable short film by me and my sisters, and a little unnamed riff show like MST3K starring Ally as herself and me as puppeteer for Mailbot, a little character I built out of junk I found. Now then, we’re expecting our movie to be at least an hour, and when we’re done, we’re making copies on VHS and DVD for all the actors, but we’re not sure if we’ll sell anything to you guys out there. Remember, it’s LOW BUDGET, so the only props are coming from the dollar tree and the craft shop. And by LOW BUDGET, I mean about 30-40 dollars at most for props, supplies, and other things. The only things we get for free is the camera, and that’s being lent to us from the smart lab at my school. Anyway, we only started working on it today, so we don’t even know exactly what the plot is, but we’ll know by next week. We DO know, however, it’s probably a Sci-Fi or a Comedy.

Work, work, WORK!

…gosh, I hate school. When I have some more work done, I’ll write a review or make some art or something. …for the two people who read, that is. BTW, before I go, I need to say the first CRC3K shorts DVD is coming in a few weeks, so keep your pants on!

Throwing a hissy fit, watch out

School, boredom, work, parents, lack of ideas. Several of the many things holding me back from animating, game making, and several other things I should be doing. A lot of emotional things have been going on that I’d rather not explain. I’ve been working like crazy on Cinematic Riff Crew 3000, and a few other projects that won’t get off the ground. I’m still waiting on Tyler for level 2 of TN adventure so I can start building mine. Alex is still a lazy butthead who can’t take 10 minutes to write a lousy game review. Apparently, he’s “busy” playing Guitar Hero. Jesus CHRIST! Let me just put a scenario of a regular weekend together for you. He sits in his room 24 hours a day – oh, and I am NOT exaggerating this. He eats in there, plays in there, and sleeps in there. It’s a mess. Clothes on the floor, messes of graded homework and food pieces laying on the desk and floor, waiting for aunt Judy to come and pick it up for him. And does he even thank or show any respect for his Aunt who does all this work for him? Nope, of course not. He’s “busy.” He’s “busy” on Newgrounds, or “busy” watching TV. I call. “Alex, are you going to update your game review blog?” “Nope, I’m busy!” “Have you animated anything yet?” “Nope, I’m busy!” Busy, huh? Busy BULLSHIT! I don’t think so! Augh! He won’t ever contribute to the dozens of things he said he would. Sometimes I just wish I could throw his Wii or his Internet in the trash for a while, and see how “busy” he is then!! Okay I need to calm down now… X_X

Sickness

Sorry if I haven’t been around much but I was recently sick with the flu. It was gross, my whole family got sick, too. I had to miss 3 days of school. Anyway, I’m back now, and I’ll post a new review or something soon.

Review – Super Mario Sunshine

GRAPHICS:
Pretty good, but nothing too special. Nice effects and details with water, though… seeing as that is what the game is about…

SOUND:
Some nice music. Interesting remixes of familiar Mario ‘tunes.

PLAYABILITY:
Compared to future games like Galaxy, the controls stink, but you get used to it fast. I just don’t get why they got rid of so many of mario’s great moves, though. It also feels very un-realistic. Mario’s movements are too sensitive.

ENTERTAINMENT:
Fun, but you’ll get pissed at the many glitches, lack of areas, and difficulty.

REPLAY VALUE:
8.0 High

OVERALL:
7.75 (Good)
